New Hope Christian Academy Professional Development

New Hope believes that ongoing professional growth is essential to advance our mission. In order to exceed the Tennessee Framework for Evaluation and AdvancEd/SACS professional development standards, all New Hope employees must comply with the following guidelines each year:

Jr. Kindergarten Faculty: 18 points per year
K-6 Faculty: 15 points per year
All Non-Teaching Staff: 9 points per year

All professional development activities (workshops, seminars, college courses, self-directed study, classroom observations, SACS visiting teams, etc.) and point values must be approved by Dr. Melinda Harper or Mrs. Susan Turnage. All professional development credits must be completed by the end of March each year. Mrs. Turnage and Dr. Harper will provide specific professional growth opportunities, guidelines and point values throughout the year.
